Chojnik / Rudawy Festiwal is a trail running event in Sobieszów, Lower Silesia, situated at the base of Poland's Karkonosze Mountains. The race offers distances from 8 km to 102 km, including 14 km, 29 km, 42 km, and 71 km options. Regardless of the chosen distance, participants will encounter rugged trail conditions, with steep ascents, sharp inclines, loose scree, forest paths, granite terrain, and demanding sections.
The courses traverse extensive coniferous forests, nature reserves, and rocky landscapes, leading towards the ruins of Chojnik Castle, perched atop a high granite outcrop. Runners are treated to vistas of the Jelenia Góra Valley, achieved through navigating rocky trails and strenuous climbs. The participant demographic includes both seasoned trail runners and families. The event concludes with a festival atmosphere at the finish area, featuring music, refreshments, and the traditional Polish reward of pierogi.
