The Karkonosh Mountain Triathlon begins with a swim in Lake Bobrowickie at Wojanow, directing athletes toward Bukowiec. This setup makes it resemble a point-to-point mountain race more than a typical city triathlon. Held in late summer in Lower Silesia, the event provides three distance options: MEGA (1000m swim, 58km bike, 10km run), FUN (500m swim, 25km bike, 5km run), and CROSS (500m swim, 22km bike, 5km run). Participants can compete individually, with a limit of 600 entries, or in relay teams, which have no entry cap.
The initial swim and the first transition area are located at Lake Bobrowickie. The finish line and the second transition are situated at Bukowiec Folwark and Park. The cycling portion utilizes public roads connecting Wojanow and Bukowiec, requiring adherence to traffic laws, mandatory helmet use, and a no-drafting rule. The longer cycling course features ascents near Przelecz Karpnicka and Srednica, accumulating approximately 1055m of elevation gain over its 61km distance. The run segment consists of a single-loop forest trail, necessitating trail running shoes. A Duathlon Junior for children takes place concurrently with the main competition. The inaugural race was completed in under three hours, with the first female finisher crossing the line slightly more than twenty minutes later.
