Triathlon Leżajsk is a sprint-distance triathlon held in Leżajsk, a city in Poland’s Podkarpacie region situated near Rzeszów and Stalowa Wola. The race follows the standard short format: 750 m open-water swimming, 20 km cycling, and a 5 km run. This distance is suitable for individuals new to triathlons, yet it remains competitive for seasoned athletes seeking a demanding, technical challenge over a lengthy event.
The swim takes place in the Floryda reservoir, bordered by forest and a natural beaver habitat. The cycling segment crosses city roads, including Mickiewicza Street in central Leżajsk, featuring gentle inclines and turns that favor skilled riders. The run route winds through residential streets and parkland, concluding with laps on an athletics track. Local spectators gather along sections of the course, particularly in the town center. Additionally, visitors can explore the Bernardine Fathers’ Basilica, known for its renowned organ, or the Museum of the Leżajsk Land, which houses Poland’s sole exhibition on brewing history.
