Wałecki Festiwal Biegowy is a one-day summer running festival in Wałcz, with its race hub on the promenade by Lake Raduń. The program is broader than a single road race: it includes a half marathon, the 11 km Film Run, a 6 km BiegamBoLubię LASY race, a 6 km Nordic walking rally, a short charity walk-run of about 720 meters, and children’s races split into four age groups.
The Film Run gives the festival its most distinctive flavor, because runners have turned up in costumes such as Joker, Darth Vader, Edward Scissorhands, and the Headless Horseman. The event also carries a sporting tribute to Zdzisław Krzyszkowiak, the Polish Olympic champion from Wałcz, and it draws local runners, children, walkers, charity participants, and competitive athletes, including BiegamBoLubię championship entrants.
