Trail of Rio de Moinhos

The Trail of Rio de Moinhos begins and ends at Nossa Senhora dos Prazeres in Rio de Moinhos, a parish in Sátão, Viseu. This trail-running event offers three options: a 23 km Trail, a 13 km Mini Trail, and an 11 km walk. The Trail and Mini Trail are for participants aged 16 and up; the walk is open to all ages, provided minors are accompanied by a legal guardian. The main Trail starts at 09:00, with the Mini Trail and walk commencing ten minutes later. The routes are marked with arrows, ribbons, and signs. Control points and aid stations along the course and at the finish line provide food and drinks. Timing is managed via an electronic chip or barcode system, supplemented by manual checks. Runners are categorized by gender and age group, with awards for the top three men and women overall and within each category for the Trail and Mini Trail. All finishers receive a medal. Special prizes are also awarded to the largest team (minimum 15 athletes) and the oldest participant.
