Pooleのランナーは、Poole Park、Whitecliff Park、Holes Bay、Quayあたりでシンプルに走ってるよ。Poole Quayは、フラットなZ2で水辺の景色もいいから、そういうのやりたい時にぴったりだね。Quayから片道3 miles、舗装された専用道が続いてるんだ。3 milesだよ。Poole Runnersはほぼ毎日集まってて、水曜はBroadstone Sports Centre、日曜はロングランがメイン。Poole ACはロードランニングがクラブの中心って感じ。Purbeck Marathon、Clarendon、Round The Lakes 10K、Race For Life Pooleあたりが、カレンダーの主要イベントになってるね。

Pooleのサイクリストは、海沿いのサイクリングパスとか、ベースマイル稼ぐのに良い場所がたくさんあるよ。Pooleには50 miles以上のサイクリングネットワークがあって、そのうち28 milesは車通りが少ない道なんだ。Route 2は海沿いのプロムナードをBournemouthまで走れるよ。Castleman TrailwayはUpton Country ParkからWimborneまで、往復だいたい9-mileの道のり。Bourne Valley GreenwayはCanford HeathからBournemouth seafrontまで、これも往復だいたい8-mile。Classic Gravel Harbour Loopは、Poole Harbour周辺の森林内のグラベルトレイル、ブライドルウェイ、シングルサイクリングトレイルを楽しめるコース。Creech/Knowle Hillは結構な登りがあるし、East Hill、Purbeck Hills、White Sheet Hill、Okeford Beaconあたりも登りの練習には良い選択肢だね。Poole Grupetto CCは水曜の夜と日曜の朝に、30から60 milesのライドをやってるよ。Jurassic Coast 100が、ここでの大きな主要イベントだね。

Pooleは7月と8月が一番いい時期だよ。暖かいライド、安定したラン、そして朝早く出発しても気持ちいい潮風が最高なんだ。夏の平均気温は15°Cから21°Cくらいで、Quayからは定期的に船が出てるから、ハーバー全体がいい感じで賑わってるよ。地元の人たちは夏の間、オフロード、長めのZ2、フラットな道でのインターバル、それから海岸沿いまで繰り出すクラブナイトなんかを楽しんでるね。冬になるとウェアもペースも変わってくるよ。冬の平均気温は2°Cから8°Cくらいで、2月の海水温は8°Cだよ。Poole Park、Holes Bay、Ashdown trackなんかは、路面が綺麗でしっかりしたトレーニングをしたい時に重宝するんだ。
