The Yeti Winter Trail Series is a four-race winter trail series held at the Dixon Park District Facility in Dixon, Illinois. It spans four months, beginning with a 5K and progressing through a 10K and 15K to a 20K, totaling 31 miles of racing. Check-in begins at 7:30 AM, races commence at 8:30 AM, and participants can register for individual distances or the entire series. The series format encourages consistent participation throughout the winter. Finishing all four races earns a long-sleeve blue shirt. Runners completing every race for five consecutive years receive a hoodie, and ten-year finishers are awarded a jacket. The initial 125 registered participants will receive a gift, and series awards are presented to the top five male and female finishers based on overall time, with additional awards for Masters and Grandmasters categories.

Footsteps for Families is a family fun event held at Harlem High School in the Rockford area. It centers on a 5k run/walk and a 100-meter Kids Fun Run. The structure is straightforward: adults and older children participate in the 5k, younger children have their own short race, and the day benefits Safe Families for Children. The event gathers runners, walkers, families, donors, and volunteers, not exclusively competitive runners. Safe Families for Children utilizes it to explain its mission of linking parents with a trained, vetted support network. The Rockford chapter started in 2009. The event also incorporates practical assistance: volunteer applications, agency family referrals, a current-needs board, and a matching donation program are all part of the day.
