Brightstar Downtown 5K 2026

The Brightstar Downtown 5K begins on Memorial Boulevard in Providence, Rhode Island. The main 5K starts at 10:00 a.m., with youth races commencing an hour prior. This is a chip-timed city 5K that includes a run/walk option, alongside short kids' races divided by gender: 100 yards for ages 1 to 5 and a quarter mile for ages 6 to 10. All participants receive a T-shirt. Pets are prohibited, and strollers are restricted to walkers, who position themselves behind runners at the start. The race is part of a four-event 5K series, which also features the Providence Monster Dash 5K, the Rhode Island Family Turkey Trot 5K, and the Downtown Jingle 5K. Participants can register for the full Grand Slam, covering all four races, which comes with a medal and gift. Alternatively, bundling two or three races offers reduced pricing. Providence Country Day School sponsors the youth races. The Downtown 5K also provides a virtual run/walk option for those wishing to participate remotely, without being present on Memorial Boulevard.
