The Habanero Hundred begins at noon on a ranch near Bellville, Texas, hinting at the race's character before the course is revealed. This August trail race at 7IL Ranch offers multiple distances: 10K, half marathon, marathon, 50K, 100K, 100 miles, relays, and a 135-mile option for experienced ultra runners.
The 7IL Ranch spans over 1,150 acres and has been operated by five generations, opening to the public in 1999. The race originated from a summer long run that encountered difficulties. Its inaugural edition saw only one 100-mile finisher; today, it is one of Texas's largest trail races. The 100-mile race is the main event, featuring a 30-hour cutoff, chip timing, complimentary race photos, shirts for all participants, belt buckles for 100-mile and 100K finishers, and medals for shorter distances and relay teams.
