HeatFest 2026

HeatFest is a month-long virtual running challenge taking place in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, throughout July. The requirement is to run 2 consecutive miles outdoors daily for the entire month. Fleet Feet Winston-Salem organizes the event, and participants record their mileage using an honor system, with an option to log it on a personal RunSignUp page. There is no set route, making the challenge about daily outdoor commitment during summer heat. Participants can register for HeatFest individually or combine it with the local Beat the Heat 5K in Winston-Salem. Those who complete the challenge without missing a day receive a $10 Fleet Feet gift card in lieu of a shirt. Participants are also welcome at the Fleet Feet cool-down tent for a summer cocktail. Proceeds from the event benefit Good Works Engine.
