Mulberry Cougar Classic 2027

The Mulberry Cougar Classic begins and ends at Mulberry Elementary’s campus on Cougar Drive in Houma, Louisiana. A kids’ 1-mile Little Cougars Fun Run takes place before the Cougar Classic 5K. Both races are scheduled for a Saturday in January. The fun run starts in the morning, with the 5K following soon after. Chipped bibs provide accurate timing, ensuring the 5K is a formally timed event, though the day is designed for families and the school community. The 5K course loops through the neighborhood, while the shorter race offers children their own event before the main field departs. Awards are presented after the races conclude, followed by a family picnic and fun day on school grounds featuring food and games. Proceeds from the race support the school, including outdoor recess and PE areas, and classroom resources for teachers. Donations are welcomed from those unable to run, and all are encouraged to participate in the post-race activities.
