PA Gravel Fest is a September gravel-riding weekend held at Crooked Creek Campground in Gaines, North-Central Pennsylvania. Participants can attend for the full three days or opt for a single day. Camping is available at the venue, and the schedule includes group rides, clinics, food, drinks, and evening music. The event identifies as a gathering of the unPAvers, fostering a campout atmosphere with bikes rather than a traditional race start.
The riding takes place on gravel roads west of the PA Grand Canyon in Tioga State Forest. Route names include Wilson Point 40, Cedar Mtn. Vistas, Bradley Wale's Lookout, Lick Run, Asaph 40, and Shambacker Spin. The routes are unmarked, requiring digital navigation instead of course arrows. Off the bike, the weekend offers clinics on hydration and nutrition, photography, handling skills, bikepacking, tires, wheels, and gravel gear, featuring contributors like Selene Yeager, Firespire Photography, Dirty Kitten, Singletrack Samurai, and Trek. The campground experience includes breakfast and coffee, an afternoon-to-evening expo, New Trail Brewing beer, Endo Tuneup THC seltzers, and live music, all integrated into the event's schedule.
