The Forge Challenge 2026

The Forge Challenge directs runners onto winter trails at The Forge: Lemont Quarries in Lemont, Illinois, a reclaimed quarry landscape now an adventure park. The primary running event is a 10K trail race organized by F^3 Running Events, with fat-bike races held on the same winter race day. Both races feature a mass start and chip timing. Packet pickup and parking are available on site at the park. The route begins on gravel road and doubletrack, running alongside the I&M Canal and the old quarry area. It then transitions into singletrack near the Sanitary and Ship Canal before returning to gravel for the final mile. The course has been adjusted to eliminate vehicle traffic and accommodate both runners and bikes. All participants receive F^3 Chicago flag-themed mittens, complementing the event’s winter pom hat.
