Over deze race
Every team at Bobr Cup carries a relay stick through mud, river crossings, bike tracks, and whitewater around Litovel in the Czech Republic. The race is an extreme three-person relay usually run in early October, with one runner, one mountain biker, and one paddler covering about 15 km on foot, 25 km by MTB, and 6 km on the Morava River. It also serves as the Open Championship of the Czech Republic for three-person relays and is organized by TJ VS Litovel.
The run uses forest roads with a short asphalt stretch and sends competitors through the river five times; the bike leg follows forest and field paths and adds more river crossings. The water leg is not a simple downstream float: it uses a Morava section with upstream paddling, a return section, portages, whitewater rated from WW I to WW IV, and two jumps of about three meters into the river. Everyone has to be able to swim because no discipline avoids the Morava. Categories cover men, women, veteran teams, and a Crazy Team contest where costumes, chants, and modified gear count toward the joke. Recent rules allow the paddling leg on a paddleboard, so a team no longer needs a specialist canoeist to enter.
