Cartagena Backyard Ultra is an endurance race held in Cartagena, Spain. Runners begin at the Palacio de Deportes at 8:00 AM, returning there after each lap. The format involves a bell signaling the start of each 6.706 km loop. Participants who finish a loop before the next bell may rest until the subsequent start. The race continues until only one runner can complete a lap more than all other participants.
El Club Mudos Trail organizes this event, with support from the Ayuntamiento de Cartagena. It is part of the official worldwide Backyard Ultra circuit, a format originating with Big’s Dog Backyard Ultra in the United States. The Cartagena course incorporates tracks, paths, and asphalt, featuring a marked route for safety and navigation. Over 150 runners are anticipated, drawing participants from across Spain, international entrants, and 17 Asics ambassador athletes.
