NNPMRT: Cheviots Challenge Fun Run/Walk 2026

The Cheviots Challenge is an annual trail running and walking event in Northumberland that raises funds for the local Mountain Rescue Team. Organized by Trail Outlaws, it provides three distance options: a 20-mile route, a 14-mile route, and an 8.5-mile fun run/walk. The entry fee is £22 or £24, with a limit of 350 participants for the shorter distance. All routes begin together before diverging. Walkers start earlier than runners, who begin at 10:00 AM. The terrain features runnable sections interspersed with bogs that remain even in dry weather. Participants can enter as individuals or teams, and all finishers receive a snack.
