2026 Backroads Gravel - Camping Booking Form

Backroads Gravel is a community gravel riding weekend based in Nabawa, in Western Australia’s Shire of Chapman Valley. Held since 2022 and run in August, it is the Mid West’s largest mass-participation sporting event, with rides ranging from short family-friendly distances to a 42.2 km option. The event includes Gravel Groms options for young riders, catering to more than just experienced cyclists seeking a challenging day. The riding takes place on gravel roads through golden canola fields, rolling hills, and wildflowers, with the Big Canola route serving as the main challenge. Riders and runners come from nearby towns and farther afield, but the event remains centered on a local gathering in Chapman Valley. It also supports Midwest Charity Begins at Home, giving the weekend a clear community purpose beyond the competition.
