Velorace

Velorace is a cycling event in Dresden, featuring a loop of approximately 17 kilometers through the Elbe Valley and the city center. Participants can select their distance: one lap for around 17 km, two laps for about 34 km, three laps for approximately 51 km, or six laps for about 102 km. The event is organized by Verein Internationale Sachsen-Tour e.V., with Baer-Service managing race timing. The course runs alongside the Elbe River, passing the three Elbe castles, offering a route closely connected to Dresden's identity rather than a standard closed-road circuit. The event also features a 200-meter Bikeparade, children's races, and a dedicated inclusion race day for riders with disabilities. Records indicate the event has taken place for over ten years, covering regular editions, varied formats, and specific editions during the pandemic.
