Eton Dorney Swim Long is an open-water swim held at Dorney Lake, the Olympic rowing venue within Eton College Rowing Centre near Windsor, Berkshire. The event utilizes a private lake, offering clear sight lines across the water and a race setup suited for longer-distance swimmers. The programme includes 2.5km, 3.8km, 5km, and 10km options, catering to those progressing from shorter open-water races and swimmers aiming for marathon distances. All starts are mass floating starts following a briefing, and all participants receive chip timing with live results.
The course is multi-lap, not point-to-point, with feed and drink stations provided during the swim. Cutoff times manage the day: 1 hour 30 minutes for 2.5km, 2 hours 10 minutes for 3.8km, 2 hours 30 minutes for 5km, and 4 hours 30 minutes for 10km. Swimmers exceeding these limits are removed from the water. The event is part of the Votwo series, featuring practical amenities such as hot showers, changing areas, baggage storage, medics, water safety, and free parking on site. Finishers can order medals and kit during booking, winners of each distance get ZONE3 vouchers, and cake and coke are available at the finish line.
