O wyścigu
This PSS Health Running event is a low-cost run at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo’s Chiyoda ward. It starts and finishes near the clock tower inside Sakuradamon Gate. Runners can choose between 5 km, 10 km, or 20 km as individuals, and a 20 km relay is also available. The 20 km and relay races begin earlier in the morning, while the 5 km and 10 km races start after check-in and a brief opening ceremony. Individual entry costs 1,000 yen, and the relay is 4,000 yen per team.
The course follows the standard Imperial Palace running loop, meaning the longer races consist of repeated laps rather than a point-to-point route. The event has a relaxed structure by typical race standards: late arrivals are permitted, same-day entry is allowed, runners can switch categories on the day, and participants who stop early will still have their covered distance recorded. The organizer even offers to record unofficial distances, such as 15 km, on the spot. All participants receive an award, certificates can be mailed later upon request, and participation items include a sports drink, an izakaya meal ticket, and a timing chip.
