Ambury Regional Park provides this Run Auckland stop a park-day atmosphere, with road, path, park, and trail underfoot rather than a sterile out-and-back. It opens the 2026 series, part of "Auckland's largest Fun Run & Walk Series," but the mood sounds more like a club morning than a large-production race.
The course is multi-lap, which I usually like for families because supporters and kids get to see runners more than once instead of waiting around wondering where everyone went. There is a kids fun run alongside the main fun runs and walks, so it should suit parents chasing a time, walkers keeping it easy, and younger runners getting their own finish-line moment in a "fun, relaxed & friendly environment."
