Freyberg Pool in Oriental Bay anchors this monthly, accurately measured fun run around the waterfront. It has the feel of a no-fuss club race: turn up, run hard if you want, and get a clean read on your legs. The Honest 10 Fun Run keeps things simple, with road, path, and park underfoot rather than spectacle.
The course is a flat out-and-back, so there is nowhere to hide and not much to overthink. Runners head south from Freyberg Pool, with the longer route turning at the wind needle and the shorter one turning earlier. Organised by WHAC, it aims for a "fast, fun and friendly environment," which is exactly the sort of setup that suits a steady tempo, a benchmark effort, or a sharp hit-out with other runners around you.
