O wyścigu
Paint the Parkway Pink is an annual fun run and race walk in San Antonio, held at the San Antonio Police Training Academy and presented by ThriveWell Cancer Foundation. The event focuses on breast cancer support and fundraising, with runners, walkers, survivor groups, families, first responders, kids, and teams all participating in a pink-themed morning. In-person options include a 5K, a 1 Mile Sprint, kids' running, and the Chappy B Mile Walk, an untimed walk open to all ages and abilities. A virtual option allows participation from anywhere, with race packets mailed to participants.
The route is flat, fast, stroller-friendly, and accessible, winding through the Police Training Academy campus. The 5K is noncompetitive, with a clock at the finish but no timing chips or formal awards ceremony. Registered participants receive commemorative race shirts, and the event upholds local traditions: prizes for top finishers, first responders, and breast cancer survivors; trophies for kids 10 and under; and a Largest Group award for teams with the biggest turnout. Some race formats include a dash around the track and up the stairs, giving the day a training-academy feel.
