O wyścigu
The July Sri Chinmoy 5K & Half-Marathon begins at the north end of Meadow Lake in Flushing Meadows Corona Park, with runners passing landmarks from the World’s Fair era. This event features two road races in Queens: a single-loop 5K and a half marathon composed of the 5K loop plus three longer loops. The course is largely flat, accurately measured, and USATF certified, appealing to runners who value precise distance alongside a straightforward park race.
The route passes the Unisphere, Fountain of the Planets, Queens Zoo, New York State Pavilion, and Queens Museum of Art, lending the race distinct Queens character over a generic park loop. Aid stations are positioned every mile. The 5K is open to participants aged 13 and older, and the half marathon is open to participants aged 16 and older. Finishers receive custom medals, all participants are given a Sri Chinmoy Races vented running cap, and runners are offered freshly made fruit smoothies post-race. The Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team manages its events with its own volunteers, without commercial sponsors; the organization hosts over 1,700 races annually across 27 countries.
