Summit Mountain Challenge 2026

The Summit Mountain Challenge is a six-race summer mountain bike series held on the trails of Summit County, Colorado. Races take place on Wednesday evenings between May and August, with start times available from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Participants can select from long, short, or kids courses. To compete for the overall series standings, riders must complete five of the six events using the same course option. The series concludes with the Breckenridge Classic, now organized by Breckenridge Recreation following its acquisition from Jeff Wescott of Maverick Sports Promotions. The aim is to foster community via affordable, well-managed athletic events, attracting local racers, younger riders, and those seeking a consistent midweek mountain bike challenge. The races operate under a USDA Forest Service special use permit within the White River National Forest. Weather or trail conditions may lead to delays, cancellations, or rescheduling.
