The New Year's Duathlon & 5K Run 2027

The New Year's Duathlon & 5K Run takes place at Granite Beach in Folsom Lake State Recreation Area, Granite Bay, California. This early morning New Year's Day event offers two choices: a short run-bike-run duathlon and a 5K trail run or walk. The 5K begins first, with the duathlon starting after its own race briefing. The duathlon consists of a 2-mile run, a 5-mile bike ride, and a final 2-mile run. Participants can compete individually or as a two-person relay team. The 5K route winds through nature trails offering lake views, providing a softer, off-road alternative to a road race. Awards are presented to the first overall male and female finishers in each event, along with the top three finishers in each ten-year age category.
