Sobre esta prova
Race Across Germany Flensburg-Garmisch covers 1,100 kilometers from Flensburg in the north to Garmisch-Partenkirchen in the south, including 7,500 meters of elevation gain. This edition takes place over several days in early July. It is a road ultracycling race where participants aim to traverse the country by bike with minimal stops, differing from stage races with daily breaks. The event also functions as the German Ultracycling Championship and a qualifier for Race Across America.
Riders can compete solo or in 2-person or 4-person teams, with or without support crews. The full route begins through Schleswig-Holstein and Lower Saxony, crossing the Elbe, then proceeds south over numerous hills towards Swabian Jura and finally Garmisch-Partenkirchen. An alternative, shorter Bavaria Extrem option runs from Eschwege to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, covering 550 kilometers with 4,100 meters of climbing. One recorded finish on the full course was completed in 39 hours and four minutes with just a 15-minute break, illustrating the race's demanding pace and minimal sleep.
