Sobre esta prova
The Bath & Bristol Railway Races Spring begins at Green Park Station in Bath, following the path of the old railway toward Bristol Temple Meads. Relish Running Races offers a complete range of distances: a 50km ultra, marathon, 25km, half marathon, 10km, and a 2km fun run starting at Green Park. Most races are out-and-back courses originating in Bath, with the 25km being the sole point-to-point option, running from Bath to Bristol Temple Meads.
The longer routes incorporate the railway's history beyond just its name. The 25km, marathon, and 50km courses pass Bitton on the Avon Valley Railway, continuing towards Bristol past preserved signal boxes and former station sites at Warmley and Mangotsfield. They also traverse Staple Hill Tunnel, a 450m railway tunnel on the course. The half marathon turns around at Bitton Train Station, featuring 2.5km each way alongside the Avon Valley Railway, an active heritage line operating on its original track.
