Sobre esta prova
The Northumberland Castles Half Marathon is a half marathon on closed roads in Bamburgh, a historic village on the Northumberland coast. It begins in the morning and is open to runners aged 17 and over. Chip timing is provided, and entry is limited to 1,200 participants. The race uses Bamburgh Castle as its backdrop, making the setting a significant part of the event.
The course is a road loop between Bamburgh and North Sunderland, with traffic management ensuring the route is clear. It features slight undulations interspersed with flat sections. Runners will see views of the Farne Islands, Holy Island, and the North Sea as they pass through the Northumberland countryside. All finishers receive a medal and a t-shirt. This event is noted as Northumberland's only closed-road half marathon.
