Sobre esta prova
The Snow Globe Gallop Bobble Hat Run starts and finishes at Durham Amateur Rowing Club, beside the River Wear in Durham. This is a Saturn Running trail event structured as a 7-hour time challenge, allowing runners to select their own distance rather than aiming for a single finish line. The minimum distance is 3km, a standard full lap is 4.37 miles (7km), and a shorter 3.28-mile loop may be used if course conditions necessitate it. All participants receive a bobble hat, contributing to the event's winter fun-run atmosphere while still offering opportunities for serious distances.
The route traces the River Wear, offering views of Durham Cathedral. Turn points at 3km and 5km are located within the lap, partly to ensure younger runners comply with UK Athletics distance regulations. Completing three laps constitutes a half marathon, six laps a marathon, and seven or more laps an ultra, with a 50km option also available. This format accommodates children, less experienced runners, marathoners, and individuals undertaking a long winter ultra.
