The Race for a Place 5K & 10K Run/Walk
Race for a Place is a 5K and 10K run/walk in Greenville, South Carolina, starting at Front Porch Housing on Cleveland Street. Packet pickup begins race morning at 6:30 AM, with the event commencing at 8:00 AM. This community fundraiser supports affordable housing, aiming to raise awareness and funds for supportive services.
The course will loop around the Front Porch property and the adjacent Greenville Technical Campus; the precise route is pending confirmation. Participants can select either the 5K or 10K distance. The event accommodates donors, supporters, and runners. Children aged 7 and under participate without charge or registration. Registered children under 8 will receive an official time but are not eligible for awards, which are reserved for the top overall male and female finishers and the top three in each age category.
Panther Prowl 5K – Abbeville, SC | October 3
The Panther Prowl 5K starts and finishes at 100 Court Square in historic downtown Abbeville, South Carolina. This fall 5K-style race, listed at 5.1 km, is hosted by EasyMoose Running Company and is for runners, walkers, students, families, beginners, and regular 5K participants.
The course uses the downtown square as its anchor, with race day centered in Abbeville rather than at a park or remote start line. EasyMoose provides free training advice and support before the race, including through its EasyMiles Training Group. Registration includes a finisher shirt, custom medal, professional bib, chip-timed results, and a giveaway bag. The finish area includes refreshments, sponsor giveaways, vendors, and a Panther-themed atmosphere.
Tri-City 5k Run/Walk
The Tri-City 5k Run/Walk is a rain-or-shine community race in Somersworth, New Hampshire, starting from 189 Route 108. It is a 5k that welcomes both runners and walkers, and the entry fee is kept low, with a higher price for race-day registration. The event raises money for American Legion Post 79, and its early editions brought in more than $20,000 and then more than $35,000, with a later fundraising goal set at $50,000.
Race day is built around more than the 5k itself. Children can join a Kids Fun Run, and participants can bid on silent auction and raffle items, including tickets for the Patriots, Bruins, and Red Sox. The front of the field has ranged from local fast runners around the 17-minute mark to female winners just under or just over 20 minutes, while the run/walk format keeps the day open to families, casual walkers, and supporters who are there mainly for the fundraiser.
Triple Tree Trot
The Triple Tree Trot, also known as the Sound Barrier 5k, takes place on a November morning at Triple Tree Aerodrome in Woodruff, South Carolina. The race begins at 10:00 a.m. Eastern. Packet pickup is available starting at 9:00 a.m. at the aerodrome, located on Mary Hanna Road.
The course follows the runway, featuring an out-and-back route with a small loop near the turnaround point before runners head back to the start. This is a straightforward airport course, distinct from a road loop through town. The entry fee is $25, and registration closes before race day.
Old Village Harbor 5K / 26th Annual

Organized by the Mount Pleasant Recreation Department for over twenty years, the event typically draws a local crowd of more than 200 participants, including residents, visitors, club runners, casual walkers, families, and dog owners. Following the race, attendees can enjoy music, refreshments, and a raffle.

One Epic Run
One Epic Run centers on the Memorial Day Mile, a downhill competitive mile in Columbia City, Indiana. The race starts in downtown Columbia City, runs point to point along Van Buren Street, and finishes at the Whitley County YMCA. It is tied directly to Memorial Day morning, with the mile kicking off the Annual Memorial Day Parade.
The Memorial Day Mile began as a tradition started by the Bird family, and Epic Racing Events now carries it forward. Epic Racing Events was founded by Mike Else, a Fort Wayne runner and endurance athlete who began racing in 2003 and has run everything from 5Ks to 100-mile ultramarathons. The event comes out of the Fort Wayne and Northeast Indiana running community, with a simple hook: a fast downhill mile before the parade rolls through town.
Hartness Half Marathon & 5K
The Hartness Half Marathon & 5K takes place on the Hartness property in Greenville, South Carolina, situated near Pelham Road and Interstate 85. Participants can choose between a half marathon or a 5K. The course incorporates varied terrain beyond typical road miles, including pavement, trails, dirt roads, gravel roads, and grass fields.
The route crosses the Hartness property and extends into its nature preserve, offering a mixed-surface run distinct from conventional city road races. The surfaces are maintained well, making the event accessible for beginners yet providing sufficient variety for competitive runners. The event has partnered with Set Up Events and has contributed to local causes such as Make-A-Wish South Carolina and A Child's Haven.
Tacky Sweater 5k Run/Walk
The Tacky Sweater 5K Run/Walk takes participants around Lakewood Nature Preserve in Greenville, South Carolina, beginning at 10:00 a.m. This holiday-themed 5K is part of the Upstate Race Series. Chip timing, live results, custom bibs, and packet pickup are available starting one hour before the race.
The course consists of two 1.5-mile loops on wide, grassy trails within the preserve. The main requirement is attire: sweaters must be worn for the entire race. Particularly outlandish homemade sweaters receive special consideration, and cash prizes are awarded to the three most ridiculous sweaters. Teams can contend for Best Group Sweater, and spectators will select a People's Choice winner. A mandatory pose at the Tacky Sweater Finish Line concludes the event. Running clubs, social run groups, children, adults, and festive pets are encouraged to participate. Donations collected through the series benefit 28 local nonprofits.
Champagne 5K
The Champagne 5K takes place on New Year's Day at Bridgeway Station in Simpsonville, South Carolina. The start and finish areas are located around the station complex. The main event is a 5K, and the event also includes a 200 m run for children before the adult race begins around midday. It is open to runners of all ages, though the champagne at the finish is for participants 21 and older.
The course is certified and the event is USATF sanctioned, ensuring a properly measured race. The theme centers on the bubbly: participants will find a sparkling cider water stop on the course and complimentary champagne at the finish line for those 21 and older. The day also features live music, announcers, hype-man JDew, awards, complimentary professional photos from B.Knox Photography, and a moisture-wicking race shirt.
