Sobre esta prova
The Bogus Basin Hill Climb begins in Boise, taking cyclists to Bogus Basin, the mountain recreation area located approximately sixteen road miles north-northeast of the city in Boise County, Idaho. Riders ascend 4,314 feet over 18.5 miles, presenting a straightforward, challenging uphill road race rather than a varied cycling event. The race has been held annually since 1972, establishing it as the third oldest continuously operating hill climb in the United States.
The course concludes at Bogus Basin, a ski area situated on Shafer Butte with a summit elevation of 7,582 feet. It holds a long-standing reputation as Boise’s primary local mountain destination. Over the past fifty years, thousands of Boise cyclists have participated in the climb, with participants ranging from local regular riders to Olympians and Tour de France competitors. George’s Cycles, a Boise bicycle shop operating since 1971, has sponsored the event for over five decades.
