Sobre esta prova
Night at the Oval places road-bike racers on the paved oval at Hawkeye Downs Speedway in Cedar Rapids for four Tuesday-evening race nights. CRANDIC Racing Club organizes the series on second Tuesdays, with a first race at 6:30 p.m. and number pickup before racing begins. It is an omnium, meaning riders complete several short races in one night, with each race scored individually.
The racing employs self-seeded fields, including women’s and A/B groups, allowing beginners to start without being placed directly into the fastest pack. Most races draw from track racing formats: Devil Takes the Hindmost, Snowball, Points Race, Scratch Races, and varied oval configurations are included. Road bikes are mandatory, USA Cycling rules are enforced, there is no free lap, and an introduction to pack racing is offered for riders seeking guidance before participating.
