Sobre esta prova

North Texas Ultra is a trail race held in February in Jacksboro, Texas, at the North Park Unit of Fort Richardson State Park. Participants can select from 10K, 25K, 50K, 52-mile, and 100K distances, including a 25K ruck option. The race utilizes the Fort Richardson State Park's Trailway and the Lost Creek Reservoir State Trailway, ensuring even shorter races are run on the same soft fine gravel surface as the ultras. Average temperatures range from 35 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit. Runners completing the 100K and 52-mile distances may encounter cold night conditions, requiring a headlamp and emergency blanket. The course consists of a 15.5-mile out-and-back loop starting and ending at the North Park Unit, with approximately 550 feet of elevation change per loop. Aid is provided at key points: the start-finish area serves as the primary aid station, Mandy's Aid Station is located at miles 4.4 and 11.1, and Quarry Water Station is at mile 7.8 (no crew access). This is a no-cup race, necessitating participants to carry their own hydration. The event is part of the Texas Ultra Series; finisher medals from the series combine to form the shape of the Texas lone star. Top male and female finishers in specific ultra distances qualify for the Big Texas Ultra 100K Championship, and a DFL trophy is awarded to the last finisher.
