The Oakley Goose Creek Run-off takes runners downhill from the area above Oakley Reservoir to Oakley City Park in southern Idaho. This race is part of the Pioneer Days series and includes a 10K, a 5K, and a one-mile Kids Race for children under 12. Families can select a short town loop or the full route from above the dam. The main races commence early; 10K participants are bused uphill to begin their run back into town.
The 10K course starts above the reservoir, proceeds along the road from above the Oakley dam, crosses the Goose Creek drainage, and concludes at Oakley City Park. The 5K begins southwest of the Goose Creek road fork, utilizing the latter half of the 10K route and finishing at the same park. The Kids Race circles the town, with check-in located by the Oakley City Office. Participants receive breakfast in the park, and proceeds benefit the Oakley Recreation District, the nonprofit responsible for managing recreation in the Oakley Valley, including facilities like the Oakley Swimming Pool.
