The UltraTrax Bear Creek Mountain PA is a timed mountain challenge at Bear Creek Mountain Resort in Macungie, Pennsylvania, offering 7-, 14-, 21-, and 28-mile options. It takes place in April on Bear Creek’s trails and winding paths, with a flexible morning start window and a same-day finish cutoff. The organizer describes it as a timed event rather than a race, allowing walkers, first-timers, and experienced trail runners to select a suitable distance. The shortest option is one full loop; longer distances involve additional loops up to the 28-mile course.
The course climbs and descends around the ski mountain on a mix of paved, gravel, dirt, and rocky paths, with elevation reaching approximately 1,200 feet. Aid stations providing snacks, drinks, and restrooms are located roughly every 2.5 miles, and the route is marked for participants spending hours on the mountain. Finishers receive a custom shirt and patch, with Level 3 and Level 4 finishers also earning a custom medal. Participants may add a weighted vest or pack for additional swag. Registration includes free race photos and Gigi’s gluten-free muffins, and a post-event party begins late in the morning. A portion of proceeds benefits the Conservation Lands Foundation.
