Kev Bannah Oval and the Julia Creek Combined Sporting Assoc Building serve as the starting point for a dusty adventure, with the South 32 DnD Adventure Run embracing its outback-adventure spirit. This is not a refined road race; it is an event where serious runners participate alongside children, teenagers, and adults who might be feeling the effects of the previous night.
The course features "hilarious outback obstacles," such as a "waterhole crossing," and operates on a "challenge by choice" principle: participants can climb, hop, jump, crawl, or bypass obstacles if they prefer. Children have their own Dusty Kids obstacle challenge within and around the oval, while novices and timed participants tackle the larger races. Expect dirt, laughter, some impulsive choices, and many people "smiling all the way to the finish line."
