Woodlands Historic Park defines this event with its "scenic bushland and trails" across natural terrain. Living Legends is located on the same grounds, with retired champion racehorses grazing nearby. It offers a low-key trail outing rather than a road race relocated to dirt, featuring a tranquil bush setting and sufficient variety for newcomers and experienced single-track runners alike.
The course follows well-marked loops, alternating between narrower single-track sections and wider paths with gentle undulations through the park. This provides changes in rhythm without becoming a technically demanding slog. Keep an eye towards Tullamarine Airport for occasional plane spotting, then conclude with the traditional quirk of heading to the historic homestead for a Devonshire tea.
