The Tour de France Femmes is a women’s professional stage race held in France during the summer, also known as the women’s Grande Boucle. As a WorldTour event, it features nine stages, live broadcast coverage, and the same core competitive narrative as the men’s Tour: flat stages, challenging finishes, mountain ascents, and climbers seeking to endure or launch attacks on steep gradients.
The L’Étape du Tour de France Femmes connects amateur cyclists to a segment of the professional route. This year’s amateur ride begins in Vaison-la-Romaine, covering 121 km with 3,000 m of elevation gain. The course crosses the Baronnies, Rhône Valley vineyards, the Dentelles de Montmirail, Col de Propiac, Col de Suzette, and Col de la Madeleine. The final 70 km mirrors the professional race, concluding with the ascent of Mont Ventoux from Bédoin: 15.7 km at an average gradient of 8.8%.
