The Mt. Fuji Climb Run is a September uphill trail race held in Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi Prefecture, on Mt. Fuji. Participants ascend 1,200 metres of elevation, finishing at the mountain’s 5th Station. The race focuses on a single objective: a strenuous uphill run on Japan’s most significant sacred mountain.
This marks the third edition of the event, which also serves as a qualifier for a larger Fuji competition. Runners completing the course in under 1 hour and 50 minutes become eligible for the summit course of the 80th Mt. Fuji Ascent Race, scheduled for July. This makes the event a valuable test for those seeking a demanding mountain challenge before attempting a higher goal on Fuji.
