The Hakone Kodo and Ekiden Road Ultra Walking is an overnight ultra-walking event in Japan, beginning in Tokyo's Odaiba area in September. Participants start in the late afternoon, allowing them to see Tokyo's skyline from Rainbow Bridge as dusk settles, before the course heads west toward Kanagawa and Hakone. The event is open to all ages, with an entry fee of 14,000 yen.
The route utilizes the well-known Hakone Ekiden road and the older Hakone Old Road, connecting contemporary relay running with the historic Tokaido travel route. It passes former post towns, reaches the Shonan coast with views of Mt. Fuji and Eboshi Rock, and includes a challenging ascent of Hakone Pass near the end. This marks the event's eighth year, organized by the NPO Japan Ultra Walking Association.
