Janosik Ultra Race 2026

The Janosik Ultra Race is a mountain running series centered in Niedzica, with its start and finish located below the castle. The courses traverse the Spisz region and the foothills of the Tatra Mountains near Łapsze Niżne, with the longer distances extending into both Poland and Slovakia. Participants can select from the 75 km Legend route, a 40 km mountain race, 20 km and 10 km options, or a 3 km night race. The 75 km Legend begins near Łysa Polana, with transportation arranged from Łapsze Niżne. This route includes additional rescue insurance for the Slovakian section, featuring helicopter support. Aid stations will offer basic provisions for runners, and those completing the race will receive a hot meal. Niedzica Castle is a short distance from the finish line. Local lore suggests an Inca treasure is concealed within the castle, adding a layer of folklore to the series named after Janosik.
