Meia Maratona das Cantarinhas
Meia Maratona das Cantarinhas is a road race held in Bragança, Portugal, typically in May, coinciding with the traditional Cantarinhas festivities. The primary event is a half marathon, complemented by 10 km and 5 km races, as well as children's and junior races, a wheelchair race, and a 7 km popular walk. The start and finish lines are located on Rua Prof. Dr. António Gonçalves Rodrigues, with the Municipality of Bragança and Ginásio Clube de Bragança serving as the organizers. The asphalt course winds through Bragança's main streets, featuring historical monuments and approaching the Castle of Bragança. It attracts a diverse field of participants, from young athletes to seasoned runners, with spectators lining the route. The event includes electronic timing, aid stations, and ongoing medical support, with prize money offering performance bonuses. As part of a larger athletics festival, the day caters to competitive runners, casual participants, families, and walkers, not exclusively half-marathon specialists.
