Feirense Backyard Ultra

Feirense Backyard Ultra begins at Europarque in Santa Maria da Feira, Aveiro district, Portugal, at 10:00 AM in August. This trail running ultra follows backyard ultra rules: participants run a 6.706 km loop, must begin the next loop precisely on the hour, and continue until only one runner can finish a lap within the time limit. The format originates from Lazarus Lake's last-person-standing concept, the creator of the Barkley Marathons. The course is marked with ribbons and night markers, as the race may extend well into the night. Participants can opt for the full elimination race or select shorter fixed distances: one lap, three laps for a half-marathon, or six laps for a marathon. Runners aged 18 and above may enter; no license is necessary.
