EXTORTION 17 Memorial Run/Ruck - Shadow Events 2026

This run and ruck remembers the 31 warriors lost when a CH-47 Chinook, call sign EXTORTION 17, was shot down on August 6th, 2011. This date was the most devastating day in Naval Special Warfare history and the single largest loss of U.S. forces since the war in Afghanistan began. This event honors these heroes and all who have paid the ultimate sacrifice. It activates communities worldwide to honor service members and veterans, support families of the fallen, and celebrate the lives of America’s fallen.
