The South End Shuffle is a September race in Charlotte’s South End, featuring a 5K and a 1 Mile Run. It starts and finishes on W Summit Ave in front of Wooden Robot Brewery, serving as a clear neighborhood anchor. The race began in 2014, growing from a small local run to over 1,600 participants.
The 5K route travels from Wooden Robot into the South End and Wilmore neighborhoods. The mile option is open to casual runners and families. Ron Skufca started the event, and Skufca Law, Wooden Robot Brewery, and Beacon Partners present it. Merchants, local businesses, neighbors, friends, club runners, and first-timers attend. Runners receive a finisher medal, adults get beer from Wooden Robot, and participants under 21 receive ice cream.
