Om dette løb
The Road Stage takes cyclists into the Orlické Mountains. The route is a 77 km road race with 1,323 meters of climbing. It is designed for amateur racers and includes professionals, so it is not a closed elite event. One edition can have up to 800 riders on the mountain roads, which is enough to alter local traffic for the day.
The course climbs toward the Hanička fortress, passes through Neratov, and then heads for Šerlich, the Orlické Mountains peak that defines the route. Riders will also see named sections like Rokytnice to Hanička and a stretch from Orlické Záhoří. The race impacts Deštné v Orlických horách practically: the Šerlich ascent from that side is closed for several hours, village traffic is heavily restricted, and marshals work intersections with police. The day also includes a social aspect, with food available on the route and an AprèsBike party under the ski slope in Deštné after the finish.
