On Berlin's Tempelhofer Feld, the Life-Run offers a 5 km or 10 km route, traversable on foot or by bike. This September charity event benefits Berliner Aids-Hilfe e.V., with the start and finish located at the main entrance on Tempelhofer Damm, near S-Bahnhof Tempelhof. All proceeds directly support Berliner Aids-Hilfe, and the race also collects donations for the organization's work with individuals impacted by HIV, HCV, Aids, and other chronic illnesses.
The event is geared towards casual runners and everyday cyclists, rather than competitive bike racers. While cyclists can opt for timing, the course is designed for leisure bikes, not racing models. Runners receive water and fruit at the start and finish points, and all participants are awarded a certificate and a Life-Run medal. A raffle is also held, though late day registrants are excluded. Berliner Aids-Hilfe, established in 1985, assists people with HIV and Aids in various aspects of life, including healthcare, education, and daily living. Consequently, the race serves as a public statement for acceptance, alongside being a short-distance run or ride.
