The Triatlón Ciudad de Ferrol begins and ends at the Curuxeiras pier in Ferrol, located on Galicia’s Atlantic coast. This is a short-distance triathlon, featuring a 750-meter swim, a 20 km road-bike leg, and a 5 km run. It is typically held in August, starting in the morning.
The cycling portion consists of four 5 km laps, and the run involves three laps of approximately 1.67 km each. This course design allows spectators to observe athletes pass multiple times near the port. The event is linked to the Galician championship and attracts over 200 participants, including many of Galicia’s top triathletes. Having completed more than twenty editions, it is established as a compact, competitive port-side race, distinct from long-distance endurance events.
