Altriman is a mountain triathlon series held in Les Angles, Pyrénées-Orientales, southern France, typically in mid-July. The main XXL race is a full-distance triathlon featuring a 3.8 km swim, 193.6 km road cycling course, and a 42 km road run. Shorter Half, Olympic, and Sprint distances are also available for athletes seeking a less demanding event.
The defining characteristic of Altriman is its significant climbing. The XXL course accumulates 6,005 m of total elevation gain, with 4,940 m on the bike and 1,065 m on the run, making it a true mountain test rather than a flat, fast triathlon. The Half course includes 2,647 m of climbing, and the Olympic version maintains the mountain character over a 750 m swim, 45.9 km bike ride, and 10.5 km run. It attracts triathletes seeking a demanding Pyrenean challenge beyond the standard swim-bike-run format.
